{photo: Thai Bistro sampler}In honor of the 30 days of hope, this month's EEDG gathering is going to be next tuesday April 21st at the Thai Bistro. We believe that the only Cambodian cuisine restaurant Helo went out of business, and since the owners of Thai Bistro are of Cambodian descent, we did the next best thing. They are going to prepare a special meal for us that will still give a taste of Cambodian food since Thai food is similar and was actually rooted from Cambodian food. We are really looking forward to it. I can't describe each item on the menu, but I have heard great things about the restaurant.
By the way, Thai Bistro has donated a $50 gift certificate for the auction, so this would be a great chance to taste the food before bidding on that item. There will be a future posting on Cambodian food and recipes soon.

EEDG stands for Exotic Epicurean Dinner Group. it was founded four years ago this past march by christopher and sophorn. the idea behind it is to celebrate locally owned ethnic restaurants by sharing a great meal with fun people. we don't always know what to order when going to a new ethnic restaurant. with our group, we sample a smattering of the menu so that we know what to order when we go back. meal price is usually $15-$20 per person and is well worth the price. we usually sample 4-5 apetizers and 3-5 entrees.
if you are interested in joining the group, give christopher your email adress and contact info. he will send you a monthly invite about a week in advance of the gathering with the header "EEDG: april invite." all the details will be included in the invite. we usually gather on the 3rd tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

1. individual/couple is reponsible for payment of his/her/their own meals.
2. please bring cash. it may help simplify and speed up payment process.
3. please be on time. we start serving food promptly at 7. if you are late, there are no discounts.
4. MUST RSVP... we have had over thirty people at a gathering. if the restaurant knows how many people to expect, it will help them to better prepare.
