"Adapt-a-Door" to Furniture ~ Sneak Peek

Mark and I are entering the Adapt-A-Door Contest benefiting Memphis Heritage and AIA Memphis as ModoHome, so, of course, we are adapting the old door pictured above into a beautifully handcrafted furniture piece. The final pieces will be displayed from July 17 to August 22 at Howard Hall, Memphis and auctioned off August 22 at 7:30pm.

Here is a sneak peek of our design shown above as a small scale study model. The idea is functional joinery and some inspiration came from truss and bridge designs. The openings are made to accommodate various storage bins, books, a rectangular glass vase I have for fresh cut flower arrangements, potted plants/flowers, or anything you may have a need to store.
