In the midst of the healthcare reform issue and debate over government assisted healthcare, there is one working solution right here in Memphis that emerged and flourished from the pure love and real concern for the working poor. Through the vision of Dr. G. Scott Morris and his development of the Church Health Center, the lives of so many Memphians have been impacted and improved by offering affordable healthcare to those who can't afford insurance, including musician Marvin Stockwell who was inspired to give back through organizing a benefit concert 2 years ago with fellow musician J.D. Reager.
In its third year this year, the 2-day Rock for Love benefit concert will hopefully prove, even in hard times, the people of Memphis can still come together to support one of the greatest causes for the love of those in need or maybe just for the love of great Memphis music. Buy tickets at Hi-Tones or Shangri-La Records. There is also a free day party at Shangri-La Records where a portion of the sales will be donated to the CHC.

See a much better view into the origin of the Church Health Center in the video below. How amazing the amount of support the Memphis community has given to allow the CHC to run fully without any government assistance.
